APMR socio-professional integration

In a world where empowering young people is crucial to development, the Association Promo Monde Rural (APMR) works to promote the socio-professional integration of young people, particularly women, by offering them practical training and comprehensive support. Through its two training centres in Sapouy and Cassou, APMR prepares young people for the challenges of the job market by offering them skills in essential and promising trades.

The young girls and boys who attend these centres benefit from specialised training in a number of sectors: sewing, weaving, animal husbandry, hotel and catering, and many other income-generating activities (IGAs). At the same time, temporary training courses, such as liquid soap and jam making, give them more opportunities to become entrepreneurs. But APMR does not limit itself to vocational training. Particular attention is paid to raising young people’s awareness of their rights, particularly with regard to sexual and reproductive health.

In 2023, the Sapouy training centre welcomed 120 young girls in dressmaking, divided between the first, second and third year of apprenticeship. The weaving centres, for their part, trained 16 female learners, giving them not only technical skills but also the tools to become autonomous leaders in their communities. Through its initiatives, the APMR is demonstrating that vocational training and education on fundamental rights are powerful levers for guaranteeing a promising future for Burkina Faso’s young people.

These actions are part of the promotion of an inclusive development model, where every young woman and man can contribute to the economic and social dynamism of their country.
